

Management Services Contract (MSC)
MCC Compact supports the Liberia Electricity Corporation to make it a more sustainable and viable public utility. The Management Services Contractor is paid by the compact for 3 years to turn it around into a more efficient and profitable company. The Management Services contract is an idea by the Liberian government agreed to by donors to properly setup LEC before turning it over to a professional Liberian management team. The MSC is a performance-based contract intended to:
• make LEC efficient and profitable
• increase capabilities of LEC staff
• reduce operating expense to the LEC revenue
• increase new customer connections annually
• reduce technical and commercial losses
• ensure electricity supply is reliable
Gender and Social Inclusion (GSI) provides technical and business skills to women, youth, and marginalized groups so that they initiate or expand their productive activities, promote networking of business, youth and women association for enhanced market access.
As part of the GSI support, MCC compact supports improving LEC customer service. The compact pays for the renovation of the existing customer service at LEC Waterside office.
LEC customer service staff will be trained to timely attend to customers queries in a timely manner. The new and renovated LEC customer service centers will be equipped with telephone systems to keep in touch with customers.
